Pecanwood Golf Course, overlooking the Hartebeespoort Dam and the oldest mountain range in the world " The Magaliesberg Mountains" is one of the latest and greatest 18 hole courses to be added to the South African lists. Opened by Jack Nicklaus in 1998, it includes holes on a "par" with the finest holes in America.
The manicuring of the Pecanwood Golf Course is exceptional, and putting on the shaved down Crenshaw bent grass greens is part of the Pecanwood experience, as well as staying out of the bunkers that Jack built. (112 on the full 18 holes, the most for any course in South Africa)
This Pecanwood Golf Course requires a lot of strategic thinking from tee to green, and was chosen as the venue for the Nelson Mandela Invitational in November 2000, this is a new tournament that will include professionals and celebrities.
Stepping back from your shot on the tees at Pecanwood Golf Course, you can admire the view of the Hartebeespoort Dam and the Magalies Mountains in the background.
