Leopard Creek, this ultra exclusive golf course, created by Johann Rupert of the Rembrant Tobacco Group was built sparing no expense. Bordering on the Kruger National Park at Malalane it represents African Golf at its very best. Golf here cost an arm and a leg and can only be played during the week, weekends are for members only. Membership of the prestigious Leopard Creek club is by invitation only and includes people like Ernie Els, Jack Nicholas, etc. Leopard Creek was built by Gary Player, as the ultimate vision of creating an Augusta in Africa. Since opening in 1996 it has improved to be up in the top three golf courses in South Africa.
At Leopard Creek, indigenous bushvelt borders the immaculate fairways and greens. Rated the most expensive course to play in South Africa it is only open to members or residents of the Malalane Sun and Intercontinental Hotel, on weekdays. Weekends are exclusively members only.
The Leopard Creek Golf Course has many feature holes like the 13th par 5 (520 mtrs) with its green overlooking the Kruger National Park and the Crocodile River.
The par-three 16th at Leopard Creek Golf Course plays over water in which distances can vary from 160m to 220m depending on the green keeper.
